History
The Department of Pediatric Nursing is one of the active departments of Nursing and Midwifery the Faculty of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences which, in addition to teaching pediatric nursing courses to undergraduate nursing students of the faculty, is responsible for training and empowering master's level students in pediatric nursing and neonatal intensive care nursing. We do this by integrating excellent patient care, innovative research, cutting-edge educational programs and timely advocacy for the pediatric population into everything we do. Graduates are prepared to work in a variety of settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, pediatric clinics, outpatient health centers, schools, etc. to manage illness, promote quality pediatric care and prevent complications in a variety of settings.  
Historically, the Department of Pediatric Nursing began its teaching and research activities at the same time as the Faculty of Nursing was established in 1986. In 1988 and 1990, respectively, it admitted students for the Master's Degree in Pediatric Nursing and the Master's Degree in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing, as well as the possibility of admitting international students at all levels. There are currently seven academic staff, including two full professors, two associate professors and three assistant professors. In accordance with the mission and goals of the College and the Faculty, the members of the Pediatric Department seek to teach, guide and supervise nursing students from bachelor to doctoral level. In addition, they carry out national and transnational research activities to expand the knowledge of pediatric nursing and NICU, and their scientific and professional achievements deserve the attention of the College and Faculty.
