The SBMU School of Nursing & Midwifery has been one of the oldest nursing schools at the national level. The basic nucleus of this school was founded in 1947 as the “College of Nursing”; its current structure was established in 1986 with the integration of many colleges affiliated to the Ministry of Health, as well as the so called old “Shir-o-Khorshid” (The Lion & Sun Organization), SBMU, and the Paramedical Sciences Complex. Since 1990, the school has been offering nursing courses at MSC level, and in 2002, two PhD students were admitted at PHD level as well. Currently, the SBMU School of Nursing & Midwifery is offering courses at undergraduate levels in nursing, midwifery, OP, anesthesiology; and at the graduate level (MSC level), courses in nursing (in internal medicine, pediatric surgery, psycho-nursing, nursing health are offered; moreover, students are admitted at MSC level in midwifery, and also at PhD level in nursing, and fertility in health.
